Lessons are tailored to your individual or group needs. Whichever way you learn, we keep a balance of grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary — with plenty of reading, conversation and variety along the way.

Kick-start your child’s Italian with homework help, vocabulary, verbs, grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading and comprehension — at a pace that keeps it fun.

Planning a trip? I can focus your vocabulary on the things you’ll actually use; ordering in restaurants and cafés, greetings, hotels, booking tickets and meet-and-greet basics. We’ll tour the map of Italy region by region, with the typical foods and products of each, plus the essential verbs to tie it together.
Real, trip-ready vocabulary · Regions, foods & culture · Built around your itinerary
Children · Adolescents & extra study · Adults after hours · Mums and coffee · Travelling to Italy intensive
What we cover
A balance of everything that matters
The important elements in learning a language are grammar — always grammar — pronunciation and vocabulary, and
reading to reinforce it all. My lessons keep these in balance. Whether I'm teaching children or adults, repetition
matters as much as variety. Everything can be tailored to you, but from the outset we'll build the basics first.
The basics, first
The Italian alphabet, and the sound of every letter
Vowels and pronunciation
Italian greetings — Saluti
Numbers
Days of the week, months, the four seasons
Everyday questions — Come stai? introducing yourself, how old are you, where do you live
Grammar at every level — nouns, articles & gender, prepositions, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs
Reading, including books for foreign learners
Writing and listening activities
Flashcards, games, music and song
Videos, films & film evenings (and the Italian Film Festival)
The geography of Italy — its 20 regions, provinces and capital cities
And so much more…
My library is extensive — I teach with a variety of textbooks, novels, poems, music and websites.

Common questions
Do I need any Italian to start? +
Not a word. I teach complete beginners through to advanced students, and we build from wherever you are.
Are lessons online or in person? +
Both. I teach online, and in person here in Canberra. Private classes run during the daytime, Monday to Friday — mornings and afternoons available.
Can lessons be tailored to me? +
Always. Every course is shaped around your goals, your level and your reasons for learning — whether that’s a trip to Italy, family, your children’s schoolwork, or pure enjoyment.
What does getting started involve? +
Send an enquiry with a few details about yourself and your level, and I’ll be in touch within two business days to plan the right course with you.
Not sure which is right for you?
Tell me a little about yourself and we'll figure it out together.
